Rollover car accident takes women’s life

Department of Public Safety reports one woman died after running off the road on US-77 yesterday afternoon.
Jacqueline R. King, 48 of Orlando, Okla. was driving a white 2004 Ford Freestar van with a 13 year-old passenger when she veered off the road. King was transported by ambulance to Perry Memorial Hospital and pronounced dead at the hospital with internal head and trunk injuries.The passenger was transported by ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City and admitted in stable condition with internal trunk injuries. Both were ejected from the vehicle, King from the driver’s door and the passenger from an unknown location.
The pair veered right off the road, overcorrected, swerving left then back to the right, before sliding into a ditch. The vehicle’s drivers side door hit a fence and rolled one time, before coming to a rest on its wheels in a wheat field. They were heading north, 209 feet north of Frontier County Road at 12:30 in Noble County when the accident occurred.
According to a DPS report, airbags didn’t deploy and seatbelts weren’t in use at the time. The condition of the driver is still under investigation.
