Isaiah Harris named Wildcat of the Week

The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week is Po-Hi Senior Isaiah Harris.

“No one would ever question why Isaiah Harris was nominated as the Wildcat of the Week, because he certainly demonstrates the characteristic of the Wildcat Way,” Superintendent Shelley Arrott said.

“Not only is he a great student who maintains strong grades, but he is a very sweet, loving young man, son, and brother. Isaiah has a very big heart and his peers say he’s a good friend, funny, and ALWAYS has a positive attitude.

“Without a doubt, Isaiah loves being a Ponca City Wildcat and was a proud member of the Ponca City Wildcat Football Team,” Arrott said. “His coaches said he left it all on the field of practice and play and competed against himself to always improve. As a starting defensive back his senior year, he had 34 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 pass break-up, 2 interceptions, and was named All-District Cornerback. His dedication to competing and improving led to the team’s defensively strong play during the season.

“Isaiah also excels in track and participates in the 4×100 relay, the 4x 200 relay, long jump, high jump, and the 200 meters,” Arrott said. “Isaiah is a loyal and true Wildcat because in addition to participating in his own activities, he is always at other events to support his fellow Wildcats. He especially loves being a member of the Robson Rowdies!

“Isaiah, the moment I met you, I could tell you are a very sweet and kind person. You proudly, but humbly, accepted the Wildcat of the Week award. I could see in your eyes you were beaming with pride and it was an honor to present the award to you. I am so proud you represent all Ponca City Wildcats with such integrity. You set a great example for your peers, and you are a great role model for our young Wildcats to look up to as well. Thanks for setting the bar high for others to follow!”

The Wildcat of the Week receives a Wildcat of the Week T-shirt, a Wildcat window sticker, and a coupon for a delicious burger basket from Ground Round. The award is sponsored by TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon Honda, Tyndall Family Dentistry, Ground Round, and Legacy Signs. The award is open to ANY Ponca City High School student.
