STILLWATER — The Osher Lifelong Institute is set to offer 14 spring classes for people age 50 or better in the Tulsa area. Courses each begin Feb.10 to Feb. 19.
OLLI is an outreach of Oklahoma State University designed to keep seniors active and social through classes, lectures, workshops, travel opportunities and special events. The 14 spring courses offered in the Tulsa area feature movie, song and literature discussions; community resource awareness; international affairs; games and art.
“Anyone who is interested in never retiring from learning should consider an OLLI class,” said Robbin Davis, OLLI director. “Not only do we offer educational opportunities, but we also bring people together in social settings. We share meals and ideas and truly enjoy each other’s company beyond class time.”
There are no tests or grades, so members can pursue learning for pure pleasure. The six-week classes meet once a week for two hours at the Church of the Madalene, Zarrow Pointe, Central Center and Montereau Retirement Community. Additional courses are offered at locations in Stillwater, Oklahoma City and Bartlesville.
“There are so many topics and classes to choose from – truly something for everyone,” Davis said.
Each course is $25, in addition to a $40 annual membership fee. Those seeking unlimited attendance to courses offered in the fall, spring and summer sessions can purchase a premium annual membership for $200, which is valid from July 1 through June 30.
