Varsity Ladycats and Wildcats Basketball is catching a bit of a break this week. Both teams had stayed busy over Christmas break with each having a tournament on the road and hosting Sand Springs last Saturday.

The Ladycats won the Citizens’ Bank Airedale Classic by beating the host team, Alma, Arkansas in the finals.

The Wildcats took Consolation Champs in the Enid Holiday Classic.

The Ladycats ended their home winning streak Saturday when losing a tough game to Sand Springs. The Ladycats made a great run in the third quarter and went into the fourth, ahead 38-26. The Lady Sandites came back and won 52-51.

The Wildcats are having some very exciting games this year by having more wins and more close games. They battled a ranked Sand Springs team all the way to the end, losing 58-54.

Varsity teams don’t have anything on the schedule for this week but the Junior Varsity teams are traveling to the Morrison Tournament.

Coach Ivan McFarlin stated, “I thought that the (boys) game against Sand Springs was an excellent test of where we’re at as a team. They showed the Wildcat Way and fought from start to finish. Unfortunately we have no games this week but I’m trying to get some scheduled. So proud of all teams 7th 8th 9th JV and Varsity boys and girls.”
