STILLWATER, Okla. (KOKH) — Check your bank account or credit card records if you paid for concessions last weekend at the “Boys from Oklahoma” show in Stillwater.
Some concertgoers say they’ve been charged way more than what they actually spent.
Lots of people are complaining about this online, like Natalie Clark. She says she was charged $427 when all she ordered were a couple of drinks.
“It was a pretty historical weekend for Oklahoma music there at Boone Pickens stadium, so it’s frustrating,” Clark said.
Clark says on Sunday, she was overcharged while buying concessions.
“What was explained to me from my financial institute is it looks like possibly someone did a custom gratuity option, and tipped themselves unauthorized.”
Her first order at the show: one shot of liquor and a bottle of water. She paid $74.24.
“I did file a complaint.”
Fox 25 reached out to Oklahoma State University about the issue. They told us 200,000 purchases happened during the three-day concert. OSU says they’ve only received two complaints so far.
“That’s kind of mind-boggling,” Clark said. “I’m in all three [Facebook] groups, and there are dozens of people in there that are saying this happened to them.”
Some people say they’ve been charged between $1,700 and $1,800.
“People who traveled here from out of state that this happened to, that would probably be a bigger inconvenience to them as well.”
While this situation gets sorted out, Clark says her bank account is on hold, and her debit card is locked.
“Even though it looks like this has happened to dozens of other people, too, I don’t want it to keep anybody from attending anything like this at the location in the future.”
If people need assistance, the University says they can contact OSU Concession Services.
