Hosted by Survivor Resource Network & Northern Oklahoma Humane Society
Ponca City, OK – Join others on Friday, April 12, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Petsense for A Teal A’Fur and Furrever Home, a heartwarming, tail-wagging day of fun, food, furry friends, and healing—brought to you by Survivor Resource Network (SRN) and the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society (NOKHS).
The event will feature delicious food, games for all ages, adorable animals ready for adoption, and a K9 Fashion Show and Costume Contest. For information on how to register a dog for the show, participants can visit Survivor Resource Network’s Facebook page. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
This annual event is more than just a celebration of pets—it’s part of SRN’s outreach for Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), held each April to honor survivors and raise awareness of sexual violence. These agencies hope to shine a light on the deep connection between animal cruelty and violence—studies show that up to 71% of pet-owning women entering domestic and sexual violence shelters report that their abuser had hurt or threatened their pets as a form of control.
NOKHS focuses on Northern Oklahoma animals and their families. They provide holistic and comprehensive support in our community! SRN seeks to empower individuals and educate the community to end domestic and sexual violence.
Whether you’re coming to adopt a new furry friend, support survivors, or simply enjoy a beautiful day with your family and pets, A Teal A’Fur is an event with heart. Don’t miss this chance to make a difference. We’ll see you there!
