Warmup to continue through the week

Ponca City Now - December 18, 2019 10:23 am

Ponca City’s Emergency Management Director Paula Cain says we can look forward to warming, clear weather this week.

“Good news this time, unless you are a snow lover!  The high today will be 50° and will continue to rise through the week,” Cain said.  “If you hear a mention of rain on Friday, this is expected to be across southern Oklahoma.  Instead we will have lots sunshine and light to moderate wind speeds for the next week.

“And Santa will have great flight weather on Tuesday!  No worries kiddos!  On Christmas Day temperature should be in the mid to upper 50s, with some changes later that week.”

Cain said the long-range forecast released in September for our winter weather this year is holding firm and continues showing a slightly warmer and wetter winter for Oklahoma.  Not a bad end for 2019.

Happy holidays everyone!
