EDMOND, Okla. (AP) – Edmond police say three people were arrested for trying to steal prescription drugs from a drug disposal box in the police department lobby.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Monroe told The Oklahoman that 27-year-old Matthew Waller and 22-year-old Hollie Andress on Friday took a bag of pill bottles from the box used to collect old and unused prescription drugs. Monroe says Waller and Andress’ father, 54-year-old Richard Andress, took the sack into a restroom.

Monroe says Hollie and Richard Andress later blocked a window while Waller took pill bottles from the box and put them in Hollie Andress’ purse.

The three were arrested after a jailer monitoring security video saw Waller reach into the box.

The three are being held in the Oklahoma County jail. No attorneys are listed for them.
