Suspect Wanted for Shooting Oklahoma Officer Captured in New Mexico

Here’s an update on the capture of a man in New Mexico, who’s accused of shooting a Webber’s Falls Police officer during a traffic stop yesterday:

WHAT POLICE IN GRANT, NEW MEXICO SAY:
-After getting the BOLO (be on the lookout) from OK about the suspect, the Grants Police Department used their license plate reading cameras and learned the vehicle the suspect was in, was spotted in their town at 7:42 AM today.
-Officers located it in the Wal-Mart parking lot, with Williams inside.
-They tried to talk to Williams and heard a single gunshot and learned he’d shot himself in the stomach.
-Williams has been transferred to hospital in Albuquerque.
-They say his condition is critical but stable as of now.
-The FBI is now in charge of Williams’ custody.
WHAT OSBI SAYS HAPPENED YESTERDAY:
-A Webber’s Falls officer made a traffic stop on Williams and during the interaction, he fired a shot at her, hitting her in the nose, then he left the the scene.
-The officer is going to be okay.
-This is an arrest, not a conviction.
