Bedlam week is upon the state of Oklahoma and all eyes will be on Boone Pickens Stadium on Saturday night for the 7PM kick between the bitter rivals, but Monday afternoon both teams had playmakers on postseason award finalist lists.

Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts was named as a finalist for a pair of awards; the Davey O’Brien National Quarterback Award and the Maxwell Award. The later goes to the best player in college football and is the most prestigious award aside from the Heisman Trophy.

Hurts is joined by LSU’s Joe Burrow and Ohio State’s Justin Fields as finalists for the Davey O’Brien award. Burrow is also a finalist for the Maxwell along with Hurts and Ohio State defensive end Chase Young.

Hurts’ top wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award, which goes to the nation’s top wideout. Lamb is No. 13 in the country with 100 receiving yards per game. He also has 14 receiving touchdowns.

Lamb’s fellow finalists are Ja’Marr Chase from LSU and Southern California’s Michael Pittman, Jr. Chase leads the country in receiving yards per game and in touchdowns with 15.

Oklahoma State’s running back Chuba Hubbard was a lock for a finalist for the Doak Walker award. Hubbard is joined by Ohio State’s JK Dobbins and Wisconsin’s Jonathan Taylor, who won the award last season.

Hubbard leads the two finalists in no fewer than nine categories, including rushing yards and receiving yards per game as well as rushing touchdowns.

Winners for all three awards will be announced on Dec. 12.
