Rep. Ford to hold study on cold cases, missing persons

OKLAHOMA CITY – State Rep. Ross Ford (R-Broken Arrow) will hold an interim study focusing on a method that may help solve many of the state’s cold or missing persons’ cases.

The study is set for 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in Room 432-A in the state Capitol, 2300 N. Lincoln Blvd. in Oklahoma City.

Ford, a former police officer, said training law enforcement to properly process abandoned vehicles for evidence could lead to quicker resolutions in missing persons’ cases and could help solve cold cases as well.

Ford has invited officials from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Oklahoma Chief Medical Examiner’s Office, the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, the Norman Police Department, the Tulsa Sheriff’s Department, the Oklahoma Wreckers Owners Association and a health service psychologist to speak at the study.

State Sen. Darrell Weaver (R-Moore) also will attend.
