Stillwater man killed in Monday accident

A Stillwater man died of injuries suffered in a collision that occurred about 1:45 p.m. Monday on U.S. 177, just north of Lone Chimney Road, about three and a half miles north of Stillwater in Payne County.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports Thomas Myers, 24, was transported by LifeNet to Stillwater Medical Center where he was pronounced dead due to internal trunk injuries.

Myers was driving a 2016 Ford Transit northbound on U.S. 177 and went left of center, striking a 2007 Peterbilt driven by Cody Forsyth, 38, of Deer Creek. Forsyth was not injured.

Myers was pinned for approximately 25 minutes before being freed by the Stillwater Fire Department.

The Patrol said the investigation into the accident is continuing.
