Personal injury collision in Payne County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 5:18 p.m. Friday on 92nd Street, about a quarter of a mile east of US177, which is about 2.9 miles north of Perkins, OK in Payne County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Jimmy Dean Garrett (SIC), 55, of Guthrie, OK. Garrett was transported by AirMed to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City in critical condition with trunk internal injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a 2002 Ford F250 driven by Jeremy Phillip Graham (SIC), 34, of Perkins, OK. Garaham was not injured.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that Garrett’s vehicle was southbound crossing 92nd from a private drive to another private drive. Graham’s vehicle was westbound on 92nd. Garrett’s vehicle failed to yield to Graham’s vehicle and was struck on the left side. A helmet was not in use by the motorcyclist. Seatbelts were equipped and in use in Graham’s vehicle. The condition of both drivers was apparently normal and the cause of the collision is attributed to a failure to yield.
