“MORGAN” returns to Tonkawa to deliver a magical and memorable evening of live music under the stars at the final 2019 Full Moon Concert, Sunday, Oct. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Tonkawa Centennial Park. North Central Oklahoma Arts Council and Heart in the Park Committee are sponsors for the free concerts and a grant from Walmart provided additional financial support for the 2019 concert series.

TONKAWA —  The season finale Full Moon Concert in Tonkawa on Sunday, Oct. 13, will feature the Stillwater-based band “MORGAN,” named after the lead singer Morgan Reynolds.

Since 2011, “MORGAN” has been captivating audiences with uniquely powerful vocals, excellent musicians, multiple instruments, and edgy, Americana songwriting.

“Soul Tree,” an original song by Reynolds, received Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting (top 5 in Americana category) in The Great American Songwriting Contest 2019.

The four-member band returns to Tonkawa by popular demand after its debut 2018 Full Moon performance delivered a magical and memorable evening of live music under the stars. “MORGAN” pushes the boundaries of rock, blues, jazz, and folk music genres.

Group members are Reynolds, vocals, saxophone, piano, guitar, flute, songwriter and manager; Victor “McFly” Denny, lead guitar; Wayne “Gretzsky” Bovenschen, percussion; and Dave “DBomb” Grounds, bass guitar.

The free outdoor concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in Tonkawa Centennial Park, 301 East Grand. In case of inclement weather, the performance will take place in the Santa Fe Depot across the street from the park. Since permanent seating in the park is limited, the public is invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and snacks. Pets on leashes are welcome. Restroom facilities are located in the Santa Fe Depot.

During the evening, time will be scheduled for all to walk the world’s only heart-shaped labyrinth under the light of the full moon. The walk concludes with the traditional howl at the moon from the labyrinth goal.

North Central Oklahoma Arts Council and Heart in the Park Committee sponsor the free concerts held May through October at 7:30 p.m. on the night of the full moon. A grant from Walmart provided additional financial support for the 2019 concert series. Audrey Schmitz, Chair of the Full Moon Concert Series, is already scheduling performers for 2020.
