NOC students receive North Central Oklahoma Arts Council Scholarship

TONKAWA —  Two Northern Oklahoma College students received the North Central Oklahoma Arts Council Scholarship this week.

The recipients are Larissa Henry, a freshman English major from Braman, and Kim Battles, a freshman art major from Ponca City.

The scholarship formerly was provided by the Tonkawa Arts and Humanities Council through the Northern Oklahoma College Foundation, Inc., but the organization recently changed its name.  The scholarship fund benefits students majoring in fine arts on the Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa campus.

The NCOAC encourages and supports the arts through cultural and educational events, scholarships and grants in North Central Oklahoma.

Application must be made with the Scholarship Office at the Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa campus to be considered for this scholarship.

The recipient(s) must be majoring in one of the following areas: Art; English – Creative Writing Option; Music; Music – Music Theatre Option; or Digital Media Animation and Design.

Applicants should demonstrate scholarship, creative or performance aptitude in the areas of desired major field of study.

The recipient(s) must be a full-time student and have a cumulative grade-point average of 2.50 or higher.
