PCPD arrest suspect of theft

A man was arrested at a Ponca City home last night after he got away from cops Saturday afternoon.

A citizen called the police about Daniel Skubik, 27 Saturday saying he was displaying suspicious behavior.

Officers responded the 3000 block of N. 14th St. and confronted Skubik.

During questioning the suspect ran from officers, officers caught him, but he escaped after slipping out of his shirt.

Two victims of car thefts and a residential burglary in the area of the suspect allowed officers to identify the subject.

Skubik was located at the 100 block of S. Elm and taken into custody just after five yesterday.

While officers obtained a search warrant for the residence Extra Eyes volunteers were called out to assist.

While there, officers discovered the occupants of the home were stealing electricity, so additional charges may be filled.

Skubik is currently being held at the Ponca City Police Department for the two vehicle thefts and also in connection with the residential burglary from the 1600 block of E. Prospect.

He has an outstanding warrant from Kay County for failing to pay on a previous weapon violation.

He is also being held for false information to an officer, obstructing an officer, escape from custody and malicious injury to property.
