A 17-year-old Ponca City girl was transported by AirEvac to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa following an accident at approximately 9:42 a.m. Thursday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The accident occurred on U.S. 77 one tenth of a mile south of Judo Road, about 6.9 miles north of Newkirk in Kay County.

The girl, whose name is withheld because of her age, was driving a 2002 Toyota Tacoma. The vehicle was northbound on U.S. 77 and turned left in front of a 2006 Peterbilt truck driven by Richard Ray Howard, 55, of Sanger, Texas, the Highway Patrol reported. He was not injured.
