Great start to school year reported by Ponca City Public School District

Ponca City Now - August 15, 2019 11:39 am

The Ponca City Public School District reported a great start to the 2019-20 school year.

Superintendent Shelley Arrott spent the day visiting schools, meeting students and teachers, and making sure everything was running smoothly.

The district encouraged parents to post their first day of school photos on the district Facebook page this year. The result was more than 200 photos posted!

“Team PCPS welcomed about 4,700 Wildcats to the 2019-2020 school year,” Arrott said. “One of the most important aspects of my job is to be in the schools connecting with students and staff, and it was a true honor to visit our sites today. I am excited about continuing these connections with all of our school and home families throughout the school year. Things went smoothly today, and it is evident that a great deal of teamwork was involved to make this day so successful. Thank you to our team of staff members, students, parents, and the community of Ponca City for making this day such a positive experience for all!

“Thanks so much to everyone who posted a first day picture on our Facebook page; we enjoyed seeing them all!

“I am looking forward to having a successful year of opportunities and possibilities for the students of Ponca City.”
