Personal injury collision in Noble County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a personal injury collision occurred at about 12:36 p.m. Saturday on I35 northbound near mile marker 202, about 5.5 miles east and 2 miles south of Billings, OK in Noble County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2019 Dodge Ram driven by Michael Bishop, 29, of Norman, OK. Bishop was not injured.

The second vehicle involved was a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado driven by Johnie Gregory (SIC), 70, of Alma, AR. Gregory was transported by Perry EMS to Perry Hospital and then LifeFlight transported to OU Medical Center, where he was admitted in critical but stable condition with trunk internal injuries.

A passenger in Gregory’s vehicle, Charon Brown, 60, of Alma, AR was transported by AirEvac to OU Medical Center, where she was admitted in stable condition with trunk internal injuries.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that Bishop’s vehicle and Gregory’s vehicle were travelling northbound on I35. Bishop’s vehicle struck the rear of Gregory’s vehicle. Gregory’s vehicle then departed the roadway to the right and rolled an undetermined number of times, coming to a rest on the driver side. Brown was pinned for approximately 10 minutes before being freed by a passerby. Gregory was pinned for approximately 1 hour before being free by the Tonkawa Fire Department using the Jaws of Life. Seatbelts were equipped and in use by all parties. Airbags were equipped in both vehicles, but only deployed in Bishop’s vehicle. The condition of both drivers was apparently normal and the cause of the collision is attributed to inattentive driving.
