Shots fired at a Ponca City apartment complex

Update:

Dalton Grubbs has been taken into custody as the shooting suspect at the apartments this morning.

He was arrested and is being held for assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Two others, who were believed to be involved in this mornings incident were taken into custody.

Both these men also had outstanding warrants.

Brian Whitaker, 20 was arrested for previous drug related charges; specifically failing to appear on two charges of possession of methamphetamine.

Derek Lieb, 26 was taken into custody for two previous drug related charges; specifically failing to appear on a possession of controlled dangerous substance after a former felony conviction and outstanding warrants for parole related violations.

Whitaker and Leib will likely face additional charges for their part in the shooting incident.

All three have listed Ponca City as their home and Grubbs told police he resides at Timbers Abatements.

Police took them into custody around 12:20 p.m. at the 200 block of S. Palm.

Police received calls about gun shots at Timber’s Apartment Complex around 6 a.m.

Police officials said no one was injured.

When officers arrived they saw a black car and a maroon van had collided.

Officers questioned several witnesses and are still at the scene gathering evidence.

Officers specializing in accident reconstruction were called to the scene, as well as detectives.

Police officials said the investigation is on-going.
