Fatality collision in Noble County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a fatality collision occurred about 7:25 p.m. Friday on US Highway 77 near Harvest Road, about 7 miles north of Orlando in Noble County, OK.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Lori L. Lancaster, 47, of Perry, OK. Lancaster was transported by medical helicopter to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she was admitted in stable condition with arm injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, Darrin R. Rucker, 49, of Perry, OK was pronounced dead at the scene by medical professionals. He was transported under the direction of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME) to their Central Office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Injuries, manner, and cause of death remain to be determined by the OCME.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that the vehicle was northbound on United States Highway 77. The vehicle departed the roadway to the right, then overcorrected and departed the roadway to the left. The vehicle rolled an undetermined number of times, ejecting the passenger. The collision remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit. Seatbelts were equipped, but only in use by the driver. The condition of the driver at the time of the accident and the cause of the collision are still under investigation.
