The 14th and final Wildcat of the Week for the 2018-19 school year is Po-Hi Senior Tyler Steichen.

“Tyler is the perfect role model for exhibiting the characteristics of the Wildcat Way,” Superintendent Shelley Arrott said. “He is the 2019 Senior Class President, President of the Ponca City FFA, and he is a member of the 2019 State Championship Livestock Judging Team and will represent Oklahoma at the National Champion Livestock Judging Competition.

“In addition to all of these activities, Tyler is very involved with his church and works part-time on a ranch. He is so polite, mannerly, and is highly respected by his peers and all adults who know him. Tyler is one of those students who is so easy to carry on a conversation with because he is so personable. It is obvious he presents himself as a true leader to his classmates since he was elected to serve as the president of two large groups this year.

“The work-ethic and habits of excellence he exhibits with everything he does will serve him well for the rest of his life. I have no doubt that Tyler will be successful in everything life has to offer. It was a true honor to present Tyler with the final Wildcat of the Week Award for this school year,” Arrott said.

Po-Hi Principal Thad Dilbeck and Arrott presented Tyler with a “Wildcat of the Week” T-shirt, Wildcat window decal, and a gift certificate from Ground Round.

The “Wildcat of the Week” Award is sponsored this year by Heather Cannon Honda. The award is for a deserving high school student who follows the characteristics of the Wildcat Way which are Work Ethic, Improve, Leadership, Discipline, Compete, Attitude, and Teamwork. These characteristics may be exhibited in any setting and the award is open to all Ponca City High School students.

Several Ponca City patrons were involved in making the “Wildcat of the Week” a reality. These partners include: Tina Christian, Senator Bill Coleman – TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon – Heather Cannon Honda, Ground Round, and Tyndall Dentistry.
