Older Americans Month program May 18 at Senior Center

Dr. Jerry Old, geriatrics specialist, and author of “Vintage People – The Secrets of Successful Aging” will be
the guest speaker for a program in celebration of Older Americans Month on Saturday, May 18.

He will speak at the Ponca City Senior Center, 319 West Grand Ave.

After being in private practice in Arkansas City, Kansas, for 25 years, Dr. Old joined the faculty at the
University of Kansas School of Medicine and helped develop the Geriatrics Program. Dr. Old has lectured
nationally on the topics of geriatrics, end-of-life issues, and spirituality in medicine.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. with a hot buffet breakfast. The program will begin at 9:15 a.m. with a focus
on the national theme for Older Americans Month: “Connect, Create, Contribute – Three Keys to a
Happier and More Meaningful Life.” Immediately following will be Dr. Old’s presentation.

There is no charge for the program or the breakfast. The breakfast is catered and reservations are
necessary. To make a reservation, call the Senior Center at 763-8051, no later than Thursday, May 16.
