Fatality collision in Kay County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a fatality collision occurred about 10:42 p.m. Friday on I35 southbound, approximately half a mile south of mile marker 218 in Tonkawa, OK in Kay County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2014 Chevy Silverado driven by Willie T. Hudson, 58, of McComb, MS. Hudson was pronounced dead at the scenedue to injuries sustained in the collision. He was transported by the Medical Examiner to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City, OK.

The second vehicle involved was a 1997 Internation Wrecker Truck driven by Roy L. Parish, 73, of Blackwell, OK. He was transported by Blackwell EMS to Blackwell Regional Hospital in Blackwell, OK, where he was treated and released.

At last report from the Highway Patrol, the full details and circumstances of the incident were still under investigation. Seatbelts were equipped and in use in both vehicles. Airbags were equipped in both vehicles, but only deployed in Hudson’s vehicle. The condition of both drivers is also pending further investigation.
