Joseph O. Elliott

August 23, 1938 – April 15, 2019

Joseph “Joe” Orville Elliott, resident of Ponca City, passed away Monday, April 15. He was 80 years old.

The service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 22, 2019 at Northeast Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Calvert, officiating. Burial will follow at Longwood Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.

Joseph was born on August 23, 1938 to James Elliott and Evelyn (Standlee) Elliott Youngblood in Claremore, OK. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and later settled in Oklahoma. He married Ramona Stout on October 1, 1966 in Ponca City, OK. In 1969, Joe began working for Conoco as a repairman. He was a loving father of three children Doug, Linda and Tracy. Joe enjoyed woodworking, meeting with friends and family and spending time with his ten grandchildren. He had a quick wit and loved being out on the farm; but family was his greatest joy.

He was the proud grandfather of Andy Elliott and wife Savannah, Ashleigh Rutherford and husband Chris, Samantha Elliott, Hunter Elliott, Jesse Tillman, Emmalyn Walker and husband Gage, Timber McArthur, Carlie McArthur, Josie McArthur, Tres McArthur; and six great grandchildren.

Joe was a member of the Northeast Baptist Church. He met a group of friends for coffee and fellowship every day. Joe and Ramona were best friends and went everywhere together. They took many trips and enjoyed traveling across the country visiting the different states. He was very proud of his country and patriotism. The way he died is just like he lived: strong and courageous and very proud that he loved Jesus.

He is survived by his wife Ramona of the home; three children; Doug Elliott & wife Achsah of Ponca City, OK, Linda Tillman & husband Fred of Bartlesville, OK and Tracy McArthur & husband Gale of Cheyenne, WY, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. One brother, David Youngblood and wife Pat of Tulsa, OK. Two sisters, Evelyn Elliott of Tulsa, OK and Mary Holeman and husband Wayne of Tulsa, OK. One sister-in-law; Luzdivina Youngblood of Phoenix, AZ, one brother-in-law Leon Stout of Oklahoma City, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father; James Elliott, his step-father, Paul Youngblood, mother Evelyn Youngblood; one brother John Youngblood and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marvin and Geneva Stout.

Casket bearers will be Andy Elliott, Hunter Elliott, Jesse Tillman, Gage Walker, Tres McArthur and Gaston Hart. Honorary Casket bearers will be Dave Youngblood, Wayne Holeman, Paul Youngblood, Joe Youngblood, Leon Stout, Monte Stout, Kayleb Shere and his coffee companions.
