Tonkawa man injured in one-vehicle accident

TONKAWA — A Tonkawa man was injured in a one-vehicle accident about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Main Street, about .8 mile south of Tonkawa.

Brent Allen Bailey, 47, was driving a 1995 Chevrolet pickup, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The truck left the roadway to the left and Bailey overcorrected, with the truck then leaving the roadway to the right. The truck rolled an unknown number of times and Bailey was ejected. The truck then hit a fence.

Baily was taken by private vehicle to Blackwell Hospital, then transported to Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kansas, with neck and back injuries, the Patrol reported.

The truck was removed by a wrecker service and towed to a residence before notification of the accident was made by hospital staff, the Patrol reported. The Patrol added the odor of alcohol was detected on the driver.
