Sierra Pollak named Ponca City Public Schools’ Wildcat of the Week

Po-Hi senior Sierra Pollak has been named the 11th Wildcat of the Week.

“Sierra Pollak is one of our most creative Wildcats,” said Superintendent Shelley Arrott.  “She possesses a wonderful artistic gift no matter what the platform.  She is a great painter, make-up artist, actor and dancer, just to name of few of Sierra’s creative outlets.

“Sierra is involved in Theater Production, Drama, PANIC, Broadcast Production, and is a member of the Po-Hi Color Guard for the Big Blue Band.  One can enjoy Sierra’s performances with the band, during plays or talent shows, and she is one of the anchors of the Wildcat News video announcements viewed by students and staff each morning.  Creativeness is one of Sierra’s many talents, but one of her attributes that I am super proud of is the positive way in which she interacts with others.  She is very accepting of everyone’s differences and treats all of her classmates and adults in the building with equality and respect.  She genuinely cares about other people and goes out of her way to make everyone feel special.  I was Sierra’s elementary school principal, and it has been amazing to watch her morph from a quiet, shy little girl into a creative, courteous and respectful young lady.  She has made a positive impact on Po-Hi by exemplifying the Wildcat Way, and I know she will go on to achieve greatness!”

Po-Hi Principal Thad Dilbeck and Superintendent Arrott presented Sierra with a “Wildcat of the Week” T-shirt, Wildcat window decal, and a gift certificate from Ground Round.

The “Wildcat of the Week” Award is sponsored this year by Heather Cannon Honda. The award is for a deserving high school student who follows the characteristics of the Wildcat Way which are Work Ethic, Improve, Leadership, Discipline, Compete, Attitude, and Teamwork. These characteristics may be exhibited in any setting and the award is open to all Ponca City High School students.

Several Ponca City patrons were involved in making the “Wildcat of the Week” a reality. These partners include: Tina Christian, Senator Bill Coleman – TEAM Radio, Heather Cannon – Heather Cannon Honda, Ground Round, and Tyndall Dentistry.

Each week a new “Wildcat of the Week” will be selected from the nominations of TEAM Radio listeners and viewers. Winners will receive a free meal from Ground Round and a T-shirt from Boss Custom Tees. PCPS will make the presentation weekly at Po-Hi.   If you know an outstanding student at Po-Hi who is living the Wildcat Way, please use the form in one of these links https://www.poncacitynow.com//32875-2/, or visit  www.PoncaCityNow.comwww.PoHiSports.com, or www.pcps.us.
