Man found dead in Ponca City

A man was found dead in a frozen creek yesterday.

According to police officials the man’s name will not be released until they can make positive identification and next of kin is notified.

The man is Hispanic and believed to be in his 50s.

Children who were playing near the creek alerted a resident in the area.

The resident notified the 911 center at about 3:40 p.m.

According to police officials police and fire personnel responded to the wooded area at the 2200 block of N. 14th s t.

The body of the male was recovered from the creek.

They contacted the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner’s office and released the body to them.
