Be prepared during these winter storms

One snowstorm down, one more to go.

I spoke with Wendy Stobbe from the American Red Cross about how to stay safe during winter weather.

Stobbe said she experienced a common, but often neglected issue yesterday.

Her internet and cable at work went down leaving her with few options to hear weather updates.

“I was trying to figure out how I was going to get weather updates, so I decided to turn on my weather radio,” Stobbe said.

She was than able to hear closings and updates from local radio stations.

The radio she has is a krank radio, which has an outlet on it as well.

Stobbe said to make sure you have enough food and water for three days on hand.

She also said to stay off the roads if possible.

Stobbe’s last suggestion was to go get your sleds and go sledding.
