Students at Lincoln Elementary School have been participating in a Wildcat Reading Challenge this year. Each nine weeks, students and staff are challenged to read a set of specific book genres and earn a certain number of AR (Accelerator Reader) points.
During the first nine weeks, students participated in a Leopard Challenge, with a Cheetah Challenge the second nine weeks. Students almost doubled their number of successful readers in the Cheetah Challenge!
Cheetah readers were recognized this week with a Cheetah Charge. After being announced, readers charged their way across the gym and were given a piece of duct tape. They used their duct tape to tape assistant principal Dawn Mills to the wall!
“It was a lot of fun. This nine weeks, all students who finish their library sheet and achieve their AR goal will get to SLIME me,” Mills said.
