Rumor of bed bugs at school not confirmed

Ponca City Now - December 11, 2018 4:40 pm

Ponca City Public Schools spokeswoman Mary Ladd has said this afternoon that there is no confirmation of bed bugs at Ponca City High School.

“Early this morning, school officials were notified there was a post on a social media platform alleging a presence of bed bugs at Ponca City High School,” Ladd said. “This issue has been under investigation all day, and none of the evidence has led to confirmation of bed bugs.

“There has not been a report to school officials by any student, parent, or teacher regarding bed bugs.  Our number one concern is the health and safety of our students and staff, and we will continue to monitor the issue and will take corrective action if there is confirmation to the allegation,” Ladd said.
