Suspect in Saturday murder arrested Tuesday morning

Waylon Dehaven Rhodd, age 22, was taken into custody at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday without incident at a residence in the 100 block of East Summit.

A felony arrest warrant was issued yesterday for Rhodd for Murder in the First Degree in connection with the death of Jessie Len Trimble III. Trimble’s body was discovered Saturday morning in a home in the 200 block of South Elm. The resident of the home came to the Police Department at approximately 7:35 a.m. Saturday morning stating that he found a man covered in blood in his home. Police and EMS responded and found the body of Trimble. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene. Trimble was shot once in the head.

Other arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
