County commissioner election results

The unofficial election results for Kay County Commissioner seat no. 2 are in.
Jason Shanks beat Jim Thomas by a vote of 260 (54.5 percent) to 217 (45.5 percent).
Shanks will replace Steve Austin.
Austin announced his retirment last fall.
Shanks will assume duties April 1 and fill the seat until 2016.
Results will be official Friday at 5 p.m.
