TULSA, Okla. (AP) – Tulsa County officials are scheduled to hold six town hall meetings over the next two weeks to discuss possible improvements to the county’s jail and juvenile center.
The public meetings are scheduled Tuesday through Jan. 23 in towns throughout the county, including Broken Arrow, Owasso and Glenpool, among others.
Input from residents could lead to a proposal by county officials to fund improvements to the jail and build a new juvenile justice facility.
The jail, located in downtown Tulsa, has been plagued with overcrowding issues the past few years and the juvenile center has been called outdated and too cramped.
