Evelyn Rowe

April 23, 1927 – September 22, 2018

Evelyn Rowe, 91, of Houston, Texas, passed away quietly in her sleep on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Belmont Village West University.

She was born April 23, 1927 in Dublin, Georgia to Eunice and C. C. Brown. She met and married Jack Wooten on September 25, 1946. They raised three children together and were long term residents of Ponca City, Oklahoma. She was an active member in the Albright United Methodist Church for many years. She worked at Conoco and retired in 1989. Jack passed away in January of 1986 after a long illness. In December of 1989, she married Clifton Rowe. While they were married they remained active in the church and traveled extensively. Clifton passed away in February 2002 after a long battle with Parkinson’s. She was an exceptional care giver to both her husbands. She moved to Houston in 2016.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two husbands, three brothers and her son, Calvin. She is survived by her sister, her daughter, Jackie Mason, son, Ken Wooten as well as 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Albright United Methodist Church. Following the ceremony, Evelyn will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City.

We honor a very special lady who blessed the lives of many and was always there to help when needed. May she rest in peace forever.
