Personal Injury Collision in Osage County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 9:39 p.m. Saturday on Rockschool Road, about half a mile east of 52nd West Avenue, which is approximately 2 miles north of Tulsa, OK in Osage County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 1998 GMC Sonoma driven by Don L. Atchison, Jr., 33, of Hominy, OK. Atchison was transported by Country Corner EMS to St. Johns in Tulsa where he was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk internal, and leg injuries.

The second vehicle involved was a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Amber N. McPherson, 29, of Tulsa, OK. Brown was transported by personal vehicle to St. Francis in Tulsa where she was treated and released.

A passenger in Brown’s vehicle, a 2 year-old child whose name has been withheld, of Tulsa, OK was transported by personal vehicle to St. Francis in Tulsa where they were treated and released.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated Atchison’s vehicle was travelling eastbound on Rockschool Road. McPherson’s vehicle was travelling westbound on Rockschool Road. Atchison’s vehicle was travelling at an unsafe speed and failed to negotiate a curve to the right. Atchison’s vehicle then entered into the westbound lane of travel and struck McPherson’s vehicle head-on. Seatbelts were equipped in both vehicles and in use by everyone but Bryant. For Atchison’s condition at the time of the accident and the cause of the collision, the report indicates that illegal drugs were in use.
