Commissioners approve Cleveland Avenue project

The Ponca City Board of Commissioners approved a repair project for Cleveland Avenue between Oak Street and Pine Street at the board’s Monday evening meeting.

The project will include reconstruction of wheelchair ramps, curbs and gutters, sidewalks and a new asphalt surface of the street, assistant city engineer Jesse Beck said.

The contract for the project was awarded to MTZ of Oklahoma City, the low bidder. The winning bid was $153,458.30, which was below the engineering estimate

The project is expected to take 30 days and Cleveland Avenue will be closed during the construction period. There is a 30-day period before construction starts for the company to fulfill bonding requirements.
