Mayola LaFay Cousins, 15 month old resident of Ponca City, passed away tragically Saturday, August 11, 2018 in Oklahoma City.
A ceremony to celebrate Mayola’s precious life will be held at eleven o’ clock in the morning on Monday, August 20, 2018 at the Connect Church with Mark Busch officiating. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mark for providing the family with a venue to hold Mayola’s ceremony. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mayola was born on May 12, 2017 to Donavan Del-Ray Cousins and Kelly Logsdon Cousins in Ponca City. Her life brought great joy to her family with her joyous, active personality and her bright smile. Mayola’s joys in life came from dancing to music with her family, having her fingernails and toenails painted, playing in the sand and watching Veggie Tales. As well, she was known to devour some banana pudding and fancy cake treats. Mayola’s time here was a blessing for all of those that met her and shared in her joy.
Survivors include her parents, Kelly and Donavan Cousins of Ponca City; siblings: Napoleon Elston, Jr., Tyler Thompson, Elizabeth Elston, Donavan Cousins, Jr., Dominic Elston, and Derek Logsdon; paternal great grandfather: Gerald Jones of Ponca City; aunts and uncles: Byron & Lakresha Lawson of San Diego, CA, Dominque & Dominique Lawson of San Diego, CA, Zachary Lawson & Jennifer McGraw of Ponca City, Alex & Debra Youker of Ponca City and Venus Logsdon of Ponca City.
Mayola was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Kennetha LaFay Hunt, maternal grandmother Janet Moulton, and paternal great grandmother Mayola Jones.
Casket bearers will be Byron Lawson, Zachary Lawson, Dominque Lawson, Napoleon Elston, Jr., Tyler Thompson and Greg Dewberry. Honorary casket bearers will be Waymond Mathis, II, Will Hardiman, Dominic Elston, and Derek Logsdon.
