Crime Stoppers operated by volunteers from donations

The Ponca City Area Crime Stoppers was created in 1984 as a group of volunteer citizens dedicated to involving the public in crime prevention in our community. The program is run strictly on donations.

Crime Stoppers empowers people to make their neighborhoods, schools and businesses safer through anonymous information about crimes. An average month has approximately 10 tips received.

The current PCACS Officer Team members are: Dwain West, Chair; Carole Jeffries, Treasurer; Tina Stracener, Secretary. Other board members include: Larry C. Bittman, Jim Kelly, Harriet Simpson, Kelly Ailey, Mark Love, Tamara Wink and Julius Wright.

The board meets on the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 a.m. at the Ponca City Chamber board room. Anyone is welcome to attend. If interested in becoming a board member, please contact one of the board members listed above.

Not only do the anonymous tips provided by callers lead to the arrests of criminals, but the recovery of stolen property and illegal drugs.

Crime Stoppers tips assist the Ponca City Police Department in solving crimes that affect every neighborhood and every type of business in our community. The PCACS organization also sponsors and funds the Campus Crime Stoppers programs at the middle school and high school levels in the Ponca City school system. Ponca City was the first Crime Stoppers program in the state to sponsor in-school programs.

Donations to PCACS can be dropped off at the Ponca City Police Department or mailed to 200 East Oklahoma Avenue, Ponca City, OK 74601.
