Ponca City Police awarded grant to combat aggressive driving

In a competitive grant process, the Ponca City Police Department was awarded funds for overtime for patrol to combat aggressive driving. These driving habits include excessive speed, drunken or drugged driving, etc.

The Communications Center in Ponca City receives at least two calls a day reporting reckless drivers. During the month of June, there were five drivers arrested for DUI. DUI arrests include driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The DUI drug charge can include prescription drugs or illegal drugs.
