Keller-Williams Select Realty of Ponca City demonstrated their commitment to community service by presenting a generous donation to The Mission on Thursday, June 8. The contribution was made as part of Keller-Williams’ annual Red Day fundraiser, which took place on May 5 at the Ponca City Country Club.

Red Day is an initiative observed throughout Keller-Williams, where employees set aside their daily tasks to engage in activities that revitalize their spirits and contribute to the betterment of the communities they serve. This tradition has been upheld since May 2009 and has become a significant event for the company.

This year, Keller-Williams chose The Mission as the beneficiary of their fundraising efforts. The Mission, founded in 1992 by Hazel Riggs and her husband Mike, continues its vital work under the guidance of Riggs’ son, Gary Jackson, and his wife June. Unlike many similar organizations, The Mission relies solely on donations and the dedication of volunteers, operating independently without any external aid or financial support.

The Mission’s primary objective is to provide essential resources to those in need within the community. Their services encompass offering meals, clothing, and groceries to individuals struggling to make ends meet. On average, they serve approximately 100 to 120 people each day, ensuring that basic necessities are not beyond their reach.

In alignment with the spirit of Red Day, Keller-Williams presented a substantial donation of $20,435.82 to The Mission. This generous contribution will significantly aid The Mission’s ongoing efforts to assist individuals within the community, reinforcing their mission of compassion and support.

Keller-Williams’ commitment to giving back to the community through Red Day and their partnership with The Mission showcases the positive impact that corporate social responsibility can have on local neighborhoods. Through their continued dedication, both organizations aim to create lasting change and improve the lives of those facing hardships.
