Ponca City Now - July 20, 2018 12:54 pm

Work on the Hubbard Road Bridge at Waverly Street has come to a standstill as the Oklahoma Department of Transportation is waiting on two subcontractors to mobilize to complete necessary work on the guardrail portion of the project.

Brian Taylor, the Division Engineer for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in Perry, Oklahoma, said numerous calls have been made by ODOT engineers to the subcontractors with no results.

Taylor indicated he was going to call the owner personally to express ODOT’s displeasure the the progress on the project, and the urgency to open to traffic as soon as possible.

“Should that call not prompt an action plan,” Taylor said, “we can start to access liquidated damages in August.

The project was started in early January and the contract indicated construction would be completed in six months.
