The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a personal injury collision occurred about 9:29pm Saturday on I35 northbound at mile marker 204, about 5.5 miles east of Billings, OK in Noble County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2014 2006 Kenworth pulling a flatbed trailer driven by Joe Michael Yowell (SIC), 65, of Blackwell, OK. Yowell was transported by ambulance to Blackwell Regional Hospital then transferred to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS in stable condition with a head injury.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated Yowell’s vehicle was northbound, suffered a blowout to the left front tire, departed the roadway left, and struck the center cable barrier. The report indicated that a seat belt was equipped and in use. The condition of the driver was apparently normal and the cause of the collision is attributed to unsafe tires.
