Ponca City resident dies in fatality collision near Red Rock

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported a fatality collision occurred about 2:35 a.m. Saturday on US177 one mile north of US412, about 4 miles south and 6 miles east of Red Rock, OK in Noble County.

The patrol said the accident involved a 2018 Chevrolet pickup driven by Angela Gayle Bettencourt-Rieheld (SIC), 57, of Ponca City, OK. She was transported by Perry EMS to Stillwater Medical Center, where she was pronounced deceased at 4:12 a.m. from trunk internal and leg injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, Mario Wilson, 37, of Morrison, OK was not injured.

The Highway Patrol’s report stated that the vehicle was northbound on US177. The vehicle crossed the center line, departed the roadway to the left, and struck a guardrail. The driver of the vehicle was pinned for approximately 35 minutes and freed by the Morrison Fire Department. Seatbelts were equipped and in use by all occupants of the vehicle. The condition of the driver is under investigation and the cause of the collision is listed as sleepiness.
