August: Osage County, written by Tracy Letts, premiered June 28, 2007, at Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago.

It’s the tale of a family forced to confront its past and present.
The comedy-drama takes place over the course of several weeks in August inside the three-story home of Beverly and Violet Weston, a large country home outside Pawhuska, Oklahoma

The play was the recipient of the 2008 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, had its Broadway debut at the Imperial Theater on Dec. 4, 2007, and started a U.S. national tour beginning July 24, 2009.

Now it comes to the black-box Ponca Playhouse just before another Oklahoma August.

Tickets are $20 for adults; $10 for students and are available for purchase.
Performance dates for this production are July 18-22 & 26-29 at the theater, 301 South First Street, July 19-22 as well as July 26-29. Show times are 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.
