Ponca City woman injured in accident on US 177

A personal injury collision occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday on US 177 0.4 miles north of New Moon Road, approximately 4.4 miles north and 3 miles west of Morrison, OK, in Noble County.

Kathryn Knipple, 57, of Ponca City was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla and was following a 2013 Freightliner driven by David Caldwell, 33, of Coyle, OK. The vehicles were northbound on US 177 when the Freightliner slowed to make a right turn into a private drive. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported Knipple rear-ended the truck and it was pushed off the roadway and came to rest on the roadside. Knipple’s car came to rest across the center line, according to the report.

Knipple was transported by Ponca City EMS to Alliance Health in Ponca City, where she was admitted in stable condition with arms, legs, and trunk internal injuries.

Caldwell was transported by Perry EMS to Stillwater Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
