Victims Identified in Logan County Airboat Accident

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has released the identities of all three victims in the November 8th fatality accident at the Guthrie Golf and Country Club in Logan County.

The accident occurred just after 1 PM when an airboat filled with water due to being over capacity.  The driver, 38 year old Kyle White of Guthrie, and two passengers, 33 year old Justin Blake of Moore and 29 year old Andrew Allison of Guthrie, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

After the boat became swamped the occupants attempted to swim to shore. One occupant was found in approximately 5 foot of water and two subjects were found in 8 feet of water.  The condition of the operator remains under investigation.  Personal flotation devices were not in use by any of the occupants of the boat.  The outside temperature was 77 while the water temperature was 61 degrees.

OHP reports the cause of the accident as over-capacity and inexperience.
