Erika Johnson has been hired as the Finance Intern for Ponca City Public Schools, pending board of education approval. Erika was a math instructor at Ponca City High School from 2007 to 2017 before leaving to become a math instructor at Pioneer Technology Center.
Shelley Arrott, Ponca City Public School Superintendent, said, “We are excited for Erika to return to Team PCPS! School finance is complicated and there are many rules, regulations, codes and practices that must be followed precisely. Understanding how school finance works takes many years of practice and experience, and we think Erika is the perfect choice for this position. No retirements have been announced, but it is always good practice to build a bench.”
Erika is a graduate of Heights High School in Wichita, Kan. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2007. She received a Masters of Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2022.
