YMCA ready for summer programs, activities

YMCA of Ponca City has a variety of programs and activities available to members and guests during the summer.

Activities include swim lessons, summer day camp, climbing wall and a variety of fitness and aquatic classes.  Now is a great time to join the Y and tone up for the summer!

Membership benefits include drop-in child care during workouts, free youth sports, state-of-the-art fitness equipment, aquatic/fitness classes, indoor walking track, racquetball courts, swimming in the family pool or lap pool, climbing wall and child care activities.

Summer Camp registration is underway for students ages 5-12.  Wachuwant Summer Camp is offered in weekly sessions from June 4 through August 3 and is held Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Activities include swimming, field trips, games, rock wall climbing, sports activities, arts/crafts, healthy lunches and snacks.  Pre-registration is required with registration and information packets available at the Front Desk.

Register now for summer youth swim lessons.  Four sessions of swim instruction will be held starting June 5 and continuing through August 3.  Each session will consist of 8 lessons with classes held Tuesday through Friday mornings.  Pre-registration is required with registration information available at the YMCA Front Desk.

The climbing wall is open to members and guests during scheduled hours throughout the summer.  The 40-foot wall is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.  Staff supervision and safety equipment is provided by the YMCA.

The Y has many benefits for older adults, including group fitness and aquatic classes, warm water family pool with zero depth entry, indoor walking track, machine weights, cardio equipment and a great place to hang out with friends.
