TULSA, Okla. (AP) – Authorities in Tulsa say one man is dead and two others are in custody following an officer-involved shooting.

Officials say members of a Tulsa Police Department gang enforcement unit were patrolling an area of east Tulsa early Monday afternoon when officers approached a vehicle containing three men. The officers moved toward the driver’s side of the vehicle to talk with the driver when they noticed that a passenger in the front seat had a gun.

Police say the man then brandished the firearm and that two officers opened fire, striking him. The driver and a passenger in the back seat ran from the area but were eventually taken into custody.

The passenger who was shot was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither he nor the officers involved have been identified.
